Pulsus is a wellness tool — not a medical device
Pulsus (the “Service”) is a general wellness product intended to help you notice patterns in your resting pulse and heart-rate variability (HRV) via a camera-based rPPG measurement, and to pair those patterns with breathwork or reflection rituals. It is not a medical device within the meaning of the FDA (21 CFR 880.6310), the EU MDR, Turkey's Sağlık Bakanlığı Tıbbi Cihaz Yönetmeliği, or equivalent regulatory regimes.
Nothing Pulsus shows you is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any disease or condition. The metrics you see — BPM, RMSSD, stress score, recovery score — are research-based estimates derived from optical signal processing. Their margin of error is published in our Privacy Policy and elsewhere in our product documentation.
Who should not use Pulsus
Please do not rely on Pulsus, or consult your doctor before using it, if any of the following apply:
- You have known arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, or any diagnosed cardiac rhythm disorder.
- You use a pacemaker, implantable defibrillator (ICD), or cardiac loop recorder. rPPG is sensitive to paced beats and will give misleading HRV readings.
- You have experienced a recent cardiac event (myocardial infarction, unstable angina, cardiac surgery) in the last 6 months.
- You are currently pregnant. HRV shifts physiologically across trimesters and Pulsus does not adjust for pregnancy. Measurements can still be interesting to track — please do not use them to evaluate foetal health.
- You are under 16 years old. See our children's privacy notice.
If you are in crisis
Pulsus's AI coach is not a counsellor. If you are having thoughts of harming yourself, please reach out to a real person now:

Driving + physical activity
Do not use the rPPG camera measurement or breathwork sessions while operating a vehicle, cycling, or doing any activity that needs your full attention. The app should only be used when you are safely stationary.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for how you use the information Pulsus surfaces. Any decision to start, stop, or modify medical treatment, medication, or lifestyle practice on the basis of a Pulsus metric is yours alone — please consult a licensed healthcare provider for medical decisions.
